Lost...

Tuesday, September 27, 2011

Today was a dark day...
Its been some time since i have written, its been a while indeed...

Throughout this few weeks, i was busy preparing for my big day this coming November. It was indeed a hectic schedule to comprehend, not even for some one like me... Or should i say, more over some one like me... Everything went smooth as planned; the hall was booked, caterer was set, menu was tip top, performers were in good form, photographers were raring to go, decorator was eager to start.. but perhaps too smooth...

Everything was fine until today, my beautiful bride / mom to be experienced an unusual heavy spotting (for those of you mothers out there, i am sure you would all be too familiar with this term)... So we went to our gyne, just to make sure things was ok...

I felt like the world stopped turning, and time stopped ticking when the doctor said, " I'm sorry, but the fetus lost its heart beat..."

Felt like a sudden impact when a car rammed strait into a 20 tonne truck... Speechless, baffled, lost...

Our little one of 9 weeks old (pregnancy term) was gone... He or she didnt even have a name yet, only a pet name "Pumpkin" to go by...

Told a bed time story, a few nights ago... was looking forward to another one tonight, but i guess i was too late... my little one went to sleep forever...

I've been lucky enough to not experience any losses in the family but i guess, everything has its first time... Its hard to come to terms with my 1st loss in MY very own family...

Jam or Jammed...

Today, I tried to travel back to Sabak Bernam to visit my grandma for the holidays... did not make it though...

Reason?!?! got stuck in a massive kampung traffic after Kuala Selangor... Haven't even reach Tanjung Karang...

The traffic was that bad... i decided to give my grandma a call and tell her that i wouldn't be making it in that traffic... What's worse, on my way earlier, was kinda dozing off in between the slow traffic... Paid a price after i "KISSED" into a Myvi's backside...

Damage was kept at minimal as i managed to avoid a direct hit by swerving to the left, alas, still not enough thus banging slightly into it...

Funnier? my cars damage was worse than the Myvi's... haih, What a Day!!!

Reminder: Don't sleep & drive...

Three and a half men... by MACC (Malaysian Association of Chinese Comedians)

16th Aug - Tuesday

It was quite an uneventful day where i actually finished my work earlier than expected... Knowing that i will be catching the ever famous Douglas Lim & his henchmen later that night kinda kept me excited for the whole day...
The anticipation of what the show might dish out considering that the trio of M.A.C.C.; comprises of prominent stand up comedian "Douglas Lim", "Kuah Jen Han", and "Poon Chee Ho", is always as funny as hell...

Whats more interesting is that, they have a new addition to their team, "Dr. Jason", whom literally is a doctor by profession turned comedian... Imagine that! ahahhaa...

The show was interesting as usual, and i decided to buy a poster of the guys and get their autographs... Who knows, they will be famous enough one day to make me a millionaire buy selling away their posters... HAHAHa...

On the same weekend, my family & I traveled back to Sabak Bernam to visit my grandma and for prayers... On the way, we stopped by a restaurant for dinner... to our amazement, we saw this huge gigantic "Toman" fish...bout 3 feet perhaps in length...

In the other aquarium, holds fresh oyster the size of my palm... i couldnt resist, so i had to order one, but to my disappointment, it was fresh water oysters...
The ones which doesnt have the distinct sea water sweetness to it and not to mention the texture which was chewy like rubber unlike the sea water oysters which has a fresh sweetness & a crunchy texture...

Once we arrived at our grandma's village, we set to get the prayers done and this food presentation was for the gods...

Arent all the "Ang Ku's", "Huat Ker's", and fruits look scrumptious? hehehe... Thats all for now folks....

NUTzzz....Eaten but havent seen them...

How many times have we ever eaten anything at all and wondered where does it come from? or How does it look like when it was raw?

The truth is, most of the time, we just ate to our hearts content and forget about the origin of the product... For most of us, it doesn't even occur to us that the original looks of the item could be somewhat inedible at a glance...

Basically, we do not bother to find out.... hahaha

Here are some nuts in their original form before they were harvested, in fact, how they even look like when they were still attached to the trees....

A) Almonds
Look at how these raw almond fruits resembles one of those carnivorous plants?

Then again, when it ripens, it resembles something else doesn't it?  *Hint, Hint*
 Suggested serving:-
- Best used for baking...
       i.e. Cakes, muffins, bread
- Almond Milk Tea...

B) Cashews
Don't they look big & juicy... hmmmmm
Not only that, the fruit is edible as well... Its what we call, Water Guava (Jambu Air)...
Suggested serving:-
- The fruit can be eaten raw just like any other fruits
- Roasted Cashews... An instant great hit with beers as condiments...

C) Chestnuts
Look at how cute the fruit is? Furry little balls of nuts...
Oops, that didn't came out right... heheh
A very sweet delicacy none the less...
Suggested serving:-
- Best used as condiments...
i.e. Chinese Glutinous Rice Dumplings (Zhong Zhi), Stir Fried Vegetable dishes, Pork Knuckle Stew...
- Coffee Roasted Chestnuts, are one of the best liked favorites amongst the Chinese community...

D) Hazelnuts
These here are Filbert, or better known in our region as Hazelnut... The resemble some sort of fairy bells...

When its ripe, the whole flower flares up in a brownish yellow tone...
Suggested serving:-
- Normally used as condiments in Chocolate, & Ice Cream...

E) Pistachios
Pinkish, pointy, & in bunches... None of us would ever think of this as Pistachios...
Within the hard shell, lies a purplish green nut...
Suggested serving:-
- Primarily used as condiments...
     i.e. Cakes, Ice Creams
- Goes well with beer too...

F)Walnuts
A bit on the ugly side, don't you think?...
But on the inside, its a brain like nut...
Suggested serving:-
- Primarily used as condiments...
i.e. Cakes, Ice Creams, Cooking Ingredients
- Caramelized Sesame Walnut, is a delicacy normally prepared in chinese restaurants to serve the customers while waiting for the food to arrive...

Wierd Jobs...

Monday, July 18, 2011

How many a time have i wondered that am i able to get a better job?

Always dreaming, wishing that one day that the job of my dreams will just appear out of nowhere and is ready for me to nod my head and say "YES, I'll Take The Job!!!"

Alas, its only a longing thus far... Then one day i received a mail from a friend, and after reading the mail, i told myself that i should be contented with what i am doing right now...

What sort of jobs that made me think twice about switching jobs? Have a look and decide for yourself... HAHAHA

1) Urinal Promoter?!?
These two ladies are apparently promoting a new urinal wash product that supposedly keeps your urinal clean & germ free...
2) Chicken on the Run...
A Korean restaurant decided to go the Xtra mile by having their food delivery unit dressed up as mascot of their product...
3) China Cableman
One can always wonder, what sort of qualification does an electrician in China has to get in order to land a job like this?
4) Ditch Digger...
Best low cost job available paid at a higher price... No air tanks or heavy diggers needed...

5) Plumber...
How on earth did the water burst outside of the toilet bowl instead of inside? hmmm...
6) A veterinarian...
Pet doctors ARE paid a lot dont they... hehehe

7) Superhero...
I wonder when will i get to be a super hero? NEVER, hahaha...

Operation "Burrrsih" 709

Wednesday, July 13, 2011

Just last week, there is a storm brewing on 709 (9th July) in the midst of and around Kuala Lumpur...

Its the storm of YELLOW... Largest crowd of civilians came forward together in hopes of a clean & fair election...

Despite reports from newspapers that the *MATA did not use violence upon civilians, pictures and videos recorded from fellow civilians says otherwise...
"A Picture Speak A Thousand Words"
*Video courtesy of fellow civilians who where there... Brave Malaysians*

One could never imagine the disappointment of the people when the *MATA, whom are suppose to look after the interest of all concern, turned against the weak and chose to protect "PAYROLL"...

How are Malaysians ever gonna turn to the authorities when anything does happen?

All these are common as we are all humans; We are entitled to our own opinions and stands even if it is civil servants like policemen...

But alas, what saddens me the most was when civilians whom were injured or got hurt in the process was left alone without any attention or medical care... An old man whom was suffering, almost having a fit was left in the care of fellow civilians while the police stood by doing nothing, and with NOTHING to release the mans hand cuffs (zip locks) to relieve the man... Are they just inhumane? or are they just plain *Numb?

I don't think they even knew any first aid in the 1st place...tsk,tsk

Well, that shall be all as i do not intend to end up in ISA custody for no apparent reason...

*Yellow, Yellow, Righteous Fellows"

Nothing much... Down memory lane

Have been up to nothing lately... Except that today was my wife's birthday also our second year anniversary of being together...

I still remembered vividly that two years ago today, i helped her planned her birthday party at Waikiki Bar 2, at Taman Tun Dr. Ismail... The surprise was that i would sing the song "Kau Ilhamku" in front of live audiences at the bar, and later on proceed to to ask her to be my girlfriend in front of everyone there...
During the party, after she agreed to be my girlfriend...

*Kinda makes it hard for her to reject rite?*... hehehe

How time flies...

One year ago, today:
I proposed to my wife at Starbucks, Centro, Klang... Imagine that, public proposal, at starbucks somemore... hahaha, good memories though...
Thanks to our dear friends, I managed to pull it off...

Well, thats what it means for me today... 7-11...

P.s. Between all you readers & me, i have another surprise for her this week for her bday... Shhhh, but i shall keep that under wraps so that it stays a surprise.... hehehe just in case she reads my blog... *Bluek*

"Dear, I will always love you!!!"
