Lost...

Tuesday, September 27, 2011

Today was a dark day...
Its been some time since i have written, its been a while indeed...

Throughout this few weeks, i was busy preparing for my big day this coming November. It was indeed a hectic schedule to comprehend, not even for some one like me... Or should i say, more over some one like me... Everything went smooth as planned; the hall was booked, caterer was set, menu was tip top, performers were in good form, photographers were raring to go, decorator was eager to start.. but perhaps too smooth...

Everything was fine until today, my beautiful bride / mom to be experienced an unusual heavy spotting (for those of you mothers out there, i am sure you would all be too familiar with this term)... So we went to our gyne, just to make sure things was ok...

I felt like the world stopped turning, and time stopped ticking when the doctor said, " I'm sorry, but the fetus lost its heart beat..."

Felt like a sudden impact when a car rammed strait into a 20 tonne truck... Speechless, baffled, lost...

Our little one of 9 weeks old (pregnancy term) was gone... He or she didnt even have a name yet, only a pet name "Pumpkin" to go by...

Told a bed time story, a few nights ago... was looking forward to another one tonight, but i guess i was too late... my little one went to sleep forever...

I've been lucky enough to not experience any losses in the family but i guess, everything has its first time... Its hard to come to terms with my 1st loss in MY very own family...

NUTzzz....Eaten but havent seen them...

Tuesday, August 2, 2011

How many times have we ever eaten anything at all and wondered where does it come from? or How does it look like when it was raw?

The truth is, most of the time, we just ate to our hearts content and forget about the origin of the product... For most of us, it doesn't even occur to us that the original looks of the item could be somewhat inedible at a glance...

Basically, we do not bother to find out.... hahaha

Here are some nuts in their original form before they were harvested, in fact, how they even look like when they were still attached to the trees....

A) Almonds
Look at how these raw almond fruits resembles one of those carnivorous plants?

Then again, when it ripens, it resembles something else doesn't it?  *Hint, Hint*
 Suggested serving:-
- Best used for baking...
       i.e. Cakes, muffins, bread
- Almond Milk Tea...

B) Cashews
Don't they look big & juicy... hmmmmm
Not only that, the fruit is edible as well... Its what we call, Water Guava (Jambu Air)...
Suggested serving:-
- The fruit can be eaten raw just like any other fruits
- Roasted Cashews... An instant great hit with beers as condiments...

C) Chestnuts
Look at how cute the fruit is? Furry little balls of nuts...
Oops, that didn't came out right... heheh
A very sweet delicacy none the less...
Suggested serving:-
- Best used as condiments...
i.e. Chinese Glutinous Rice Dumplings (Zhong Zhi), Stir Fried Vegetable dishes, Pork Knuckle Stew...
- Coffee Roasted Chestnuts, are one of the best liked favorites amongst the Chinese community...

D) Hazelnuts
These here are Filbert, or better known in our region as Hazelnut... The resemble some sort of fairy bells...

When its ripe, the whole flower flares up in a brownish yellow tone...
Suggested serving:-
- Normally used as condiments in Chocolate, & Ice Cream...

E) Pistachios
Pinkish, pointy, & in bunches... None of us would ever think of this as Pistachios...
Within the hard shell, lies a purplish green nut...
Suggested serving:-
- Primarily used as condiments...
     i.e. Cakes, Ice Creams
- Goes well with beer too...

F)Walnuts
A bit on the ugly side, don't you think?...
But on the inside, its a brain like nut...
Suggested serving:-
- Primarily used as condiments...
i.e. Cakes, Ice Creams, Cooking Ingredients
- Caramelized Sesame Walnut, is a delicacy normally prepared in chinese restaurants to serve the customers while waiting for the food to arrive...

Also, play of the day...
Billy running away from his marker...

Tricks of the day...

Typical David VS Goliath...

Saw how Kelvin was given the "Armpit" Tactic amongst other things... hehehe

In Action...

The sportsmanship spirit in play...

Highlight of the day...

OUCH!!!

And i couldn't just left James in pain, so i helped him apply some ointment... Which turned out to be disastrous...
Of all the places that James got hurt...Haih...

Well, we all had fun in penang, working out... and had our fair share of food adventure the very next day...
But that's a different story....
Until then, Ta Ta!!...

Possible acting career?

Monday, June 13, 2011

Lately, i went for a casting session with "Woo Hoo Productions", yes, the company that produced the movie "Tiger Woo Hoo" & "Great Day"....

This time round, they were looking for someone to play a Siamese Monk character in a hokkien sitcom along side Huang Yi Fei, "The Million Dollar" song man (Chik Pah Ban - hokkien)...

I went for it & was called up to play the roll for a cameo of 1 minute in this 12 episode, first of its kind, hokkien sitcom which will be aired late July this year...

I was excited yet at the same time didn't know what to expect... Who knows i could end up being an international renowned actor star in movies like...

"The Bulletproof Monk"
 or maybe....

"Avatar - The Last AirBender"

Finally, 12th June -
The shoot was being conducted in a sundry shop located somewhere in Sungai Chua, Kajang...
It really is a village out there in the wilds...

The "Sundry Shop"

Upon arrival, i was asked to try out the costume of the character, which was only a piece of light brown cloth... Little did they know that this particular "monk" has some body arts hidden beneath the shirts all these while... hehehe

They crew had to call in the expert, the make-up artist... She really did a great after spending just minutes with my right arm...

Viola!!!

Noticed how the lines of the tattoo is still there? but it was enough to be hidden from the camera...
Great job!!

I waited for about 1 whole hour before my scene was up... I took 8 takes before they call it a wrap...
Acting sounds easy but went it really came to the time, it really does involve a lot of hard work of repeating the same scene till its perfect... SO, i had to fall 8 times in total including the rehearsal round... OUCH!!!

You see, the character that i was playing, was a siamese monk that came to a sundry shop to beg for some alms & when the monk was being ushered away, he fell by tripping over his own leg...

 After the shoot...

Nonetheless, i had fun working with a bunch of funny people, & when i meant funny people, i mean they really are a funny bunch from the actors/actresses right down to the production crew....

It was a fun experience and i would love to do it again....

 I'll be Back!!!

P.s. On my drive back home, i can't help but noticed how working for our government can be to die for...
- Fixed hours
- Great benefits
- Five days a week
- Misuse of Privileges
 Truck Over-loading

And that is nothing compared to this...@@
 Truck Over Over-loading...
I shall not elaborate further or i may end up in "you know where" ( Institute of Special Attention)

hahaha... till the next time...

Nothing like life....

Remembered some nice memories lately...

This photo was shot while i was helping my boys conduct their athletics badge test last weekend...
Just thought this photo look kinda cool...

I was after all from the Boys' Brigade Malaysia movement from my secondary school days, inactive for about a few years now until recently, i had the urge to go back & help the boys...
Yup!! That was me!!!

Kinda remembered the good old days... Come to think of it, here are some other captions...
Do you know what is this?
Its a cocoa fruit in the flesh...
Got a chance to eat it too....

Hehe, whats coming next may not be for all...
SALTED ROACHES!!!
Muahaha, told ya its not for the feint hearted... My brother in law TRIED to eat it too, but IT proved difficult as it was THAT big....

How big you may think?
THAT BIG!!

Coming away from that disgusting topic, i also remembered that in the olden days when viagra was not yet invented.... People used to resort to traditional treatments... hehehe

Well... Its definitely KUAT, as after all these years the banner is still there... Not to mention HALAL & LICENSED too, as the local town council has allowed this advert to be there for so loooOOOooong...

The best of all, it is when kids ran around in nothing else but with only pure innocence...
Got to see my dream car too... Mustang!!! in Shah Alam... (dang!!)

 Thats all for now folks...

BTW, went casting for a character in a hokkien sitcom... GOT IT 2!!! Will be shooting on the 12th June (this coming sunday)... rest assured that i will lots to blog bout it too... TATA...

Bz... Bz... Beeee ZZZZzzzz....

Boss not around... (In Beijing, China, entertaining customer)
Last weekend, my friends & I went back to Furry Friends Farm again, this time not for a mere visit but to provide a helping hand to Sabrina the owner of the farm...

Never & i mean NEVER, have i fried before sooOOOoooo many eggs... Yes, you saw it right.. Lots & lots of eggs... i mean by the hundreds (30 pcs per tray X 20 trays)

Whopping 600 eggs, just for a one day meal for the dogs alone... It was fun nonetheless...

Was so occupied with all our tasks at hand that no photos were taken... HAIH....

Thats all for now... gotto get back to work...
