This time round, they were looking for someone to play a Siamese Monk character in a hokkien sitcom along side Huang Yi Fei, "The Million Dollar" song man (Chik Pah Ban - hokkien)...
I went for it & was called up to play the roll for a cameo of 1 minute in this 12 episode, first of its kind, hokkien sitcom which will be aired late July this year...
I was excited yet at the same time didn't know what to expect... Who knows i could end up being an international renowned actor star in movies like...
"The Bulletproof Monk"
or maybe...."Avatar - The Last AirBender"
Finally, 12th June -
The shoot was being conducted in a sundry shop located somewhere in Sungai Chua, Kajang...
It really is a village out there in the wilds...
The "Sundry Shop"
Upon arrival, i was asked to try out the costume of the character, which was only a piece of light brown cloth... Little did they know that this particular "monk" has some body arts hidden beneath the shirts all these while... hehehe
They crew had to call in the expert, the make-up artist... She really did a great after spending just minutes with my right arm...
Viola!!!
Noticed how the lines of the tattoo is still there? but it was enough to be hidden from the camera...
Great job!!
I waited for about 1 whole hour before my scene was up... I took 8 takes before they call it a wrap...
Acting sounds easy but went it really came to the time, it really does involve a lot of hard work of repeating the same scene till its perfect... SO, i had to fall 8 times in total including the rehearsal round... OUCH!!!
You see, the character that i was playing, was a siamese monk that came to a sundry shop to beg for some alms & when the monk was being ushered away, he fell by tripping over his own leg...
After the shoot...
Nonetheless, i had fun working with a bunch of funny people, & when i meant funny people, i mean they really are a funny bunch from the actors/actresses right down to the production crew....
It was a fun experience and i would love to do it again....
I'll be Back!!!
P.s. On my drive back home, i can't help but noticed how working for our government can be to die for...
- Fixed hours
- Great benefits
- Five days a week
- Misuse of Privileges
Truck Over-loading
And that is nothing compared to this...@@
Truck Over Over-loading...
I shall not elaborate further or i may end up in "you know where" ( Institute of Special Attention)
hahaha... till the next time...
